Looking to rent a nice house, condo or townhouse? Home rentals can be challenging because the better units often have lots of people wanting to rent a limited number of units. Here's what you can do to help your chances.

You can help yourself greatly by preparing a renter's resume. Not many people have even heard of such a thing, but it can make a big difference to a potential landlord. On your renter's resume list the addresses of your past rentals complete with the names and phone numbers of the property manager or landlord. Be sure and list your employer's name, address and phone number along with the number of years you have worked there. The whole idea is to convince your next property manager or landlord that you have a good, stable source of income with which to pay the rent and that your past history indicates that you are a good, stable renter, an asset to have in the property.
